Amy Schumaker
Amy is a young musician based out of Philadelphia. A native of northeast Ohio, she went to Capital University Conservatory of Music, where she earned degrees in both euphonium performance and music education.
After graduation, she moved on to England to study. In one year, she earned her master’s degree at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) where she majored in euphonium performance. She minored in research methods, music journalism and music education in the community.
Currently, Amy is living in Philadelphia. She taught two years of general music at the elementary and middle school levels before moving on to SoundStage School of Music where she is a band instrument and piano teacher. Additionally, she is developing an ever-growing private studio of euphonium, baritone, tenor horn and piano students. Her performance projects include playing solo euphonium for the Atlantic Brass Band and collaborating with area musicians for brass quintet, orchestral, and low brass performances.
Amy's interests include hiking, camping, gardening, carnivorous plants, reading, and pets. Amy was diagnosed with Celiac's Disease in 2008. She enjoys sharing information about her gluten-free lifestyle with others.
